Blokes and Joi Hormone Replacement Therapy
Blokes owned by Josh Whalen and Joi Women's Wellness owned by Katy Whalen (husband and wife) offer the male and female versions of wellness. Services like, Hormone Replacement, Weight Loss, Sexual Health and Longevity & Aging Well. I'm a patient of Joi and have experience with their process, products and pricing.
I purchased the Hormone + Metabolic + Thyroid blood work panel for $249.00 back in the Spring. I placed my choice of labs in my cart and checked out. Within two days I had received by lab orders via email and was equipped to stop into a LabCorp to have my blood drawn.
With in a week, I had my blood work results and was also sent an email link from Joi to schedule my 30-minute 1:1 with one of their certified health coaches.
My main goal for the appointment was to review my hormone levels and get a professional's opinion. I was on HRT at the time but wasn't convinced it was the right dosage for me and wanted a second opinion. As I suspected, my hormone levels were on the low end of the "normal range" and were really low when you consider I was already on a cream formulation of estrogen and progesterone.
Blokes and Joi Board Certified Clinicians
My first appointment was with Dr. Brooke and my first follow up, two months later was with Dr. May. Both appointments allowed 30 minutes for discussion and questions. In both cases they were prepared and joined the online telehealth appointment right on time.
During my first appointment I mentioned to Dr. Brooke that I had about 12-15 pounds still lingering that I wanted to lose and wasn't having any luck. Once we completed our discussion on Hormone Replacement Therapy, we changed gears and began talking about Semaglutide, a weight loss drug.
Joi and Blokes Semaglutide
After hearing Dr. Brooke explain how Semaglutide might help, I was all in. The next day after my Joi telehealth appointment I received an invoice with all the product options based on my discussion with Dr. Brooke. I was to pick and choose which products I wanted to purchase. One of the options was semaglutide in a 2, 4, 6 or 8 month vial. I opted to go with the 4-month which was $1049.00 or $262.25 per month. I've heard of people paying close to $1000 per month for semaglutide, so this price felt like a great deal!
Semaglutide is the generic version of Ozempic. It's made by a compounding pharmacy and once you and doc have discussed and they send a Rx to the pharmacy, the vials and syringes are sent directly to you. It couldn't be easier.
Adding Semaglutide to HRT or TRT
Using Semaglutide and HRT or Semaglutide to TRT is a fairly new concept and there are not a lot of studies that have been conducted. However, I've seen a few Youtube videos and articles that suggest that using Semaglutide along with Hormone Replacement or Testosterone Replacement just might be the Holy Grail of Weight loss for us folks in our 50's and 60's.

My Weight Loss Experience with Joi Semaglutide
I've been injecting Semaglutide once per week for the past nine weeks and have lost ten pounds! I'm very pleased with my results. See my full review here.
As far as side effects go, I have been a bit nauseous from time to time, but it passes quickly. I've also learned that I need to have food in my belly before I take vitamins, taking them on an empty stomach makes me pretty sick for about 30-45 minutes.
I started with 10 units, then upped it to 20 units and from there every 4 weeks I can increase it again. Personally, I have felt enough from the 20 units that I haven't increased my dosage since the 4th week. I assume that if I up the dose I'll likely be even less hungry and right now my appetite is under control, so I don't feel the need to increase the dose.
The medication really decreases my appetite. I get full very quickly and feel full for a longer period of time. All of those feelings make it easier for me to not eat or not each as much or as often, so it's definitely working for me.
I plan to stay on the semaglutide until I lose about 5-more pounds or until the medication runs out.
