Can I use my Medical Insurance

Gennev accepts Aetna, Anthem and United HealthCare. They indicate on their website that more insurance companies are being onboarded all the time. You can see a complete and full list of in-network providers on their website.

Your initial consultation and any follow-up visits will be 30 minutes in duration. If you are using your medical insurance, your expected out of pocket costs will be whatever your standard co-pay or deductible might be. If you are not using your insurance or are self-pay because your insurance isn't in their network, your initial consultation will be $199 and follow-up visits will be $149.00.

As a point of reference Midi Health charges $250 for the initial visit and MyMenopauseRx charges $99 for their initial 20-minute visit. If you are paying out of pocket for your visits or if you find your health insurance is "out of network" then you might want to check out MyMenopause Rx. All three of these providers write prescriptions for FDA approved menopause medications, that can be picked up your local pharmacy, so the cost will be the same with the only real difference being the cost of initial and the follow-up visits.

Gennev Prescriptions - Your expected Out-of-Pocket Cost

When you are using your insurance for prescription drugs, you never really know what the cost will be until you check out at the pharmacy. I have been a patient of Midi Health and a patient of MyMenopause Rx, here is what I've experienced in the way of costs.

Currently I'm on:

Estradiol Patch - .0375

Progesterone Tablets - 200 mg

The first time I picked up my prescriptions the cost was:

  • Estrogen Patch (3 Month Supply) $205.99 Retail/$96.85 with insurance

  • Progesterone Tablets (3 Month Supply) $138.99 Retail/$111.32 with insurance

What I learned after this appointment is that had I used a Good Rx Coupon, I could have gotten both meds for $100.73 for a 3-month supply. Who knew using a GoodRx Coupon would be a better price than using my prescription insurance from my full-time employer? Before you head to pharmacy to pick up your meds, download the GoodRx ap on your phone and compare pricing so you know which will be best for you when you pick up your prescriptions at the pharmacy.

Gennev Hormone Replacement Therapy for Menopause

Gennev is in the middle of the pack as it pertains to the Self-Pay first Consultation cost at $199. Midi is $250 and MyMenopauseRx is $99. If you are not using insurance or find your insurance out of network, then Gennev is not the most affordable option. Because your prescriptions will come directly from your local pharmacy, that cost will be the same across the board for all three providers.

I didn't love their website, I had to toggle back and forth to find all the information I need for this blog, but eventually I did find all my answers.
