Her motto is, "We all deserve to feel our best from the inside out."
Here is a podcast with founder Katy Whalen.
Joi Women's Wellness is the female version of a company her husband started, called Blokes. Joi specializes in Menopause Care, Longevity & Aging Well, Weight Loss, Labs, Sexual Health and Supplements. If you have a wellness concern that you'd like professional advice, Joi is the right fit for you.
Joi Women's Wellness (Pre) Review
Joi is available as a telehealth, which if you've read any of my other blogs, you know I love that. They require up-front blood test on hormone levels and other biomarkers depending on what your areas of interest are. Personally, to me this makes sense. I understand that many of us first and foremost, want to relieve our menopause symptoms and that's a good way to determine if HRT is working, but I also like the data that comes from blood tests. I consider myself to be a health geek!
They offer bioidentical hormone replacement therapy in creams, patches, troches, capsules and injectables. They are able to prescribe estrogen, progesterone and testosterone.
· Testosterone - $59-$69/Month
· Estrogen $59-$69/Month
· Vaginal Estrogen $ 49-$59/Month
· Progesterone - $54-$69/Month
In some cases, they can write a prescription, and have it sent to your local pharmacy, but its best to discuss your options at the time of visit or ahead of time, if you want more details. If you and your HRT specialist opt to place you on bioidentical HRT vs. conventional, it's likely that it will need to be paid for out of pocket. Joi does accept HSA cards.

Choose Joi
As I began my research on this company, I was pleased to find so many other women's wellness products that they specialize in. They offer Semaglutide, Tirzepatide, B12 and MIC for Weight loss. They offer peptides, creams, a pelvic floor strengthener and a troche to get you in "The Mood." You can also discuss products for strength and muscle, skincare and cellular support.
If you are a woman who wants to heal yourself from the inside out, then Joi is a great place to meet a doctor who has the same goals and can become a trusted partner, not just a provider, to help you in your journey for better health.
Joi, my first appointment and prescriptions
I made the decision in April of 2024 that I wanted to try Joi when my prescriptions ran out with my previous telehealth, hormone replacement therapy provider.
I went online and paid for the Hormone + metabolic + thyroid blood test and waited for them to reach out to me. With-in two-days I was equipped with my lab orders and ready to go to my local LabCorp to have blood drawn. It took the lab about one week to get the results both to me and to my doctor at Joi. Joi sent me a link once my blood work was received so I could go online and schedule with a doctor. I was able to schedule for three-days later, a telehealth appointment.
They allotted 30 minutes for my time with the doctor. Dr Brooke joined the call right on time and was very informative and professional. We discussed the HRT I am currently on and its impact on my hormone levels based on the bloodwork. She felt we could up my estrogen and progesterone dose a bit to get my numbers more in line with what they like to see at Joi. At the end of our time, I mentioned that I had quit drinking alcohol and as a result have a huge, sweet tooth, so she suggested semaglutide to help me try to lose that last 10-15 pounds. I wasn't entirely sure what product she was referring to and again she took the time to explain to me the benefits of the injection she was recommending for me.
The next day, Joi sent me an invoice so I could make my purchasing decisions. They had broken down the cost of the semaglutide (4-months' worth) and then my 3-months' worth of estrogen, progesterone and testosterone. I opted to go all in. The HRT was $113/month. The semaglutide alone averaged out to $ 262.25 per month.
Joi's Semaglutide is a compounded, generic(ish) form of Ozempic. I've heard people say they are paying as much as $1000 per month for their name brand prescriptions, so I felt $262 was a bargain. I've been getting HRT products from compounding pharmacies since 2019, so no questions there from me, as it pertains to the role of compounding pharmacies in providing Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy products.
The Semaglutide came within a week, and I gave myself the first injection that evening. It came with syringes and alcohol wipes to prepare the area I plan to give myself the injection. The first one I placed in slowly and then on week two, I just jammed it in and that was a better way to do it! I choose to place it in my stomach. I bunched a few fat rolls together and then did the deed.
The rest of my products came about two weeks later, I'm assuming they had to be manufactured and fulfilled at the Empower compounding pharmacy that Joi partners with.
My prescriptions consisted of a testosterone injection that I give myself once per week. An estrogen patch that I change out twice a week and then progesterone cream that I rub on the inside of my arms once per day. So, all in all, my HRT therapy is a total of three products.
I'm most excited to try the patch as it will be a continuous dose vs. the 1X or 2X per day cream that I've done in the past.
Joi Wellness Reviews
I'm barely in week three of the Semaglutide and plan to do a full review once I've been on it for a month or so. But I can tell you, I'm not as hungry and I get full much faster. There were a few times I felt a little nauseous, but it does go away pretty quick. The one thing I have found is that if I plan to take certain vitamins, it's best not to take them on an empty stomach while on the Semaglutide.
I will do a full review of both Joi Hormone Replacement Therapy and the Semaglutide once I have a few weeks under my belt. Watch for future blogs and YouTube videos where I'll share my Joi HRT Reviews and experiences.
Is Joi Legit?
Yes, most definitely. If you have time, I encourage you to listen to the Podcast noted above or there are others where Katy is interviewed and shares her story of how the company started. I'm super excited about this company as it's one that wants to serve your entire wellness needs, rather than just one category or another.
I wish Katy and her company well and hope that someday I'll be able to meet her or her team in person.
